Seoul Table Quest — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-02 (draft)
Seoul Table Quest is a food-map app for travelers. We collect as little as possible, and most of your data never leaves your device.
What stays on your device (localStorage)
- An anonymous session ID (random string, no account needed).
- Your plans, wishlist, check-in stamps, coins, quests, and streak.
- Check-in photos and GPS coordinates you capture never leave your device. They are used only to verify your visit locally.
What is shared with our server (only if the backend is enabled)
- Check-in facts: restaurant ID, your anonymous session ID, and a verified yes/no flag — not your photo or coordinates.
- Objective verification signals you submit (multiple-choice only; free-text is never collected).
- Community pin suggestions: the Google Maps link you paste (verified server-side).
- Your nickname on the leaderboard — only if you explicitly tap "join". You can ask us to remove it at any time.
- A push subscription token — only if you explicitly turn on reminders. Turning the toggle off deletes it.
Optional sign-in
You can use everything without an account. If Google sign-in is available and you use it, we receive your Google display name and email via Supabase Auth to carry your data across devices.
Analytics
We record product events (e.g. "app opened", "shared a map") tied to your anonymous session ID
to measure whether the app is useful. Inbound share links may carry attribution tags
(ref/utm). No advertising trackers, no data sale — ever.
Your choices & deletion
- On-device data: use "reset local data" in the app (beta metrics panel), or clear the site data in your browser — this removes everything stored locally.
- Server data: email us with your anonymous session ID (shown in the metrics panel) and we will delete associated rows.
